Leigh has worked in the Australian dairy industry for the past 45 years in milk, ice cream and cheese. A dairy and food specialist showing strong leadership capability and acumen. Possessing broad skills in dairy foods manufacture and assessment whilst specialising in cheese. He has a passion for product quality and the establishment and maintenance of impeccable quality standards in process and product enabling the manufacture of products that exceed customer expectations.
While working in various areas of the business his primary focus has been on the quality of the products produced and using his influence and knowledge to drive quality improvement into the product by collaborating with others in their sphere of responsibility.
He has extensive experience in cheese manufacture, sensory evaluation and the selection of cheese for packaging in the FMCG environment. He has been a cheese judge for the DIAA Australian and Victorian dairy competitions for several years. As of May, Leigh left Fonterra Australia and embarked on the next phase of his career as a consultant to the dairy industry.
In 2016, Leigh received the DIAA Victorian scholarship to attend the International Dairy Federation Word Dairy Summit in the Netherlands. In May 2017 Leigh was elected as the President of the DIAA Victorian division
